Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement provided at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pick-up. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, charges, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take precedence.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a Car with Us
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire, you must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may vary based on the vehicle type, and additional fees may apply for drivers under 25. A valid full driving licence, appropriate for the vehicle category, must be held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. You will also need to provide valid identification, proof of your current address, payment information, and a security deposit. Please review the Rental Agreement for any other specific requirements.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or directly at our Fleet location. A booking deposit may be required to confirm your reservation. Full payment, along with a security deposit, is typically collected at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be prepared for your review and signature. Upon returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when collected, accounting for standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in additional charges, so please notify us promptly if you expect to return the vehicle late. You will be liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental period, along with an administrative fee.
Insurance and Liability Policies
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. Detailed coverage information and any applicable excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to minimize your financial exposure. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You are liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount, unless additional insurance applies. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the booking type and the notice period provided. Please check your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for precise information. Charges may apply for late cancellations or no-shows, so it's advisable to adhere to the specified guidelines to avoid additional fees.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- Use of our vehicles is strictly prohibited for any illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, off-road driving, and other hazardous uses. Transporting dangerous materials, sub-letting the vehicle, or allowing unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding passenger limits, or operating outside designated geographical areas without prior approval is also prohibited.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and charges.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Fleet will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount you paid for your rental in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence, or for fraudulent activities.
Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive authority of the courts in England and Wales.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon their publication on our website. Continued use of our services confirms your acceptance of the revised Terms.
